In order for the iron ore deposits under the city to be mined, the city is being com\u00adplete\u00adly relo\u00adcat\u00aded. Some build\u00adings are mov\u00ading with it. Oth\u00aders will be demol\u00adished. Places of mem\u00ado\u00adry will dis\u00adap\u00adpear as the mine moves. All this will take time. The mas\u00adter plan pro\u00advides for about 20 years. There\u00adfore, there will be two cities for a long time. Much is unclear. For exam\u00adple, whether the new hous\u00ades will be afford\u00adable or whether the city will have to migrate again in the future, because the seam of the ore deposit extends to beneath the new city. \u00a9 Klaus Thymann<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Many, includ\u00ading the city admin\u00adis\u00adtra\u00adtion, see a town devel\u00adoped on the draw\u00ading board as a poten\u00adtial new begin\u00adning. How\u00adev\u00ader, not every\u00adone seems hap\u00adpy about the plans, which are close\u00adly linked to the company\u2019s eco\u00adnom\u00adic devel\u00adop\u00adment. What would hap\u00adpen, for exam\u00adple, if the glob\u00adal mar\u00adket price for mag\u00adnetite ore fell and the relo\u00adca\u00adtion of Kiruna, which has already begun, could not be ful\u00adly implemented?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

White Archi\u00adtects in col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtion with Ghilardi+Hellsten Arkitek\u00adter won the inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adtion for a 20-year mas\u00adter plan for the grad\u00adual relo\u00adca\u00adtion of Kiruna five kilo\u00adme\u00adters to the east by 2033. The images show aer\u00adi\u00adal views of Kiruna in 2033 and 2100.
