The work of pho\u00adtog\u00adra\u00adph\u00ader and film\u00admak\u00ader Jan Dirk van der Burg shows trails: nar\u00adrow and unpaved paths cre\u00adat\u00aded by being walked or rid\u00adden over again and again. They fol\u00adlow the organ\u00adic move\u00adments of peo\u00adple who move through the world on foot or by bicy\u00adcle. In this way, they call into ques\u00adtion the sharply and clear\u00adly delin\u00adeat\u00aded spaces cre\u00adat\u00aded on the draw\u00ading board by infra\u00adstruc\u00adture and city plan\u00adners. Here, trails rep\u00adre\u00adsent resis\u00adtance, small ges\u00adtures of civ\u00adil dis\u00adobe\u00addi\u00adence. They protest against this will to order and design, which blan\u00adkets every\u00adthing and yet makes no sense in dai\u00adly life. They appear wher\u00adev\u00ader the plan\u00adners of the still car friend\u00adly world did not reck\u00adon with peo\u00adple who have a mind of their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
