DESCRIPTION:Adetoun Küp­pers-Ade­bisi ist Präsi­dentin von AFROTAK TV cyber­Nomads\, Autorin\, Pub­lizistin\, Kura­torin und wurde wieder­holt nation­al und inter­na­tion­al als Medi­en- und Kul­tur­ak­tivistin aus­geze­ich­net. Seit 2002 konzip­iert sie kul­turelle Bil­dungs- und Wis­senstrans­fer-Plat­tfor­men. Seit 2005 doziert sie aus inter­sek­tionaler schwarz-fem­i­nis­tis­ch­er Per­spek­tive zu kul­tureller Vielfalt\, Lit­er­atur und Medi­en. 2011 war sie die Kul­tur- und Medi­en-Koor­di­na­torin des Lan­desak­tion­s­plans gegen Ras­sis­mus und eth­nis­che Diskri­m­inierung. Seit 2012 kuratiert sie die Black Berlin Bien­nale for Con­tem­po­rary Art & Decolo­nial Dis­course\, die seit 2016 offizielles Pro­jekt der UN Decade for Peo­ple of African Descent ist. She has been design­ing var­i­ous for­mats of cul­tur­al edu­ca­tion and knowl­edge trans­fer plat­forms since 2002. Since 2005\, she has lec­tured on cul­tur­al diver­si­ty\, lit­er­a­ture\, and media from an inter­sec­tion­al Black fem­i­nist per­spec­tive. In 2011\, she was the Cul­ture and Media Coor­di­na­tor of the State Action Plan against Racism and Eth­nic Dis­crim­i­na­tion. Since 2012\, she has curat­ed the Black Berlin Bien­nale for Con­tem­po­rary Art & Decolo­nial Dis­course\, which has been an offi­cial project of the UN Decade for Peo­ple of African Descent since 2016. Since 2019 she is spokesper­son of the Coun­cil for Diver­si­ty and Social Inclu­sion (RDSI) of the devel­op­ment pol­i­cy cen­ter Berlin Glob­al Vil­lage in Neukölln.Gueril­la Archi­tects is a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary artist col­lec­tive based in Berlin. By focus­ing their work on spa­tial inter­ven­tions and socio-crit­i­cal art projects\, they approach urban devel­op­ment by being »gueril­la«. This means that great val­ue is not nec­es­sar­i­ly only cre­at­ed by build­ing on a grand scale. On the con­trary\, by work­ing with exist­ing struc­tures\, it often only requires min­i­mal­ly inva­sive inter­ven­tions in order to give new mean­ing to for­mer invis­i­ble spaces. DESCRIPTION:Xiao­fu Wang ist eine aus­tralis­che Fotografin\, die in Berlin lebt. Ihre Arbeit konzen­tri­ert sich auf Migra­tion\, Reli­gion\, Medi­en und Poli­tik; sie erforscht die Schnittmenge zwis­chen kollek­tiv­en und per­sön­lichen Erfahrun­gen. Sie wurde in ein­er Vielzahl von Print- und Online-Medi­en veröf­fentlicht. Sie hat einen BA (Com­mu­ni­ca­tions) von der UTS Syd­ney und set­zt derzeit ihre Aus­bil­dung an der Ostkreuzschule in Berlin fort. Sie ist Teil des in der Ausstel­lung Liv­ing the City präsen­tierten Pro­jek­ts »We Are City Plaza«.Kamil Bem­b­nista ist Filmemach­er und Sozi­ologe. Er vere­int bei Diszi­plinen um\, ein­er­seits\, Film als wis­senschaftliche Aushand­lung zu nutzen und\, ander­er­seits\, um raum­be­zo­gene Geschicht­en sein­er Pro­tag­o­nis­ten in seinen Doku­men­tarfil­men zu porträtieren. Zurzeit arbeit­et er als akademis­ch­er Mitar­beit­er an der Fakultät für Architek­tur\, Bauin­ge­nieur­we­sen und Stadt­pla­nung an der Bran­den­bur­gis­chen Tech­nis­chen Uni­ver­sität Cot­tbus und ist assozi­iertes Mit­glied am Son­der­forschungs­bere­ich »Re-Fig­u­ra­tion von Räu­men« an der Tech­nis­chen Uni­ver­sität Berlin. \n\n\n\n\n\nXiao­fu Wang\n\n\n\nKamil Bem­b­nista\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nXiao­fu Wang is an Aus­tralian pho­tog­ra­ph­er liv­ing in Berlin. Her work focus­es on migra­tion\, reli­gion\, media and pol­i­tics; explor­ing the inter­sec­tion between col­lec­tive and per­son­al expe­ri­ences. It has been fea­tured in a vari­ety of print and online media. She has a BA (Com­mu­ni­ca­tions) from UTS Syd­ney and is cur­rent­ly con­tin­u­ing her edu­ca­tion at Ostkreuzschule in Berlin. DESCRIPTION:Jen­nifer Aksu (M.A. Urbane Kul­tur\, Gesellschaft und Raum\, Grün­dungsmit­glied von Invis­i­ble Play­ground) arbeit­et seit mehr als zehn Jahren freiberu­flich an der Schnittstelle von Stadt\, Kun­st und Trans­for­ma­tion. Jen­nifer berät\, begleit­et und befähigt Men­schen und Organ­i­sa­tio­nen aus Kun­st\, Kul­tur\, Stadt und Ver­wal­tung in Zeit­en des Wan­dels: zivile Par­tizipa­tion\, Wer­te­ori­en­tierte Unternehmungen\, Dig­i­tal­ität und Ver­net­zung sind dabei Schw­er­punk­te ihrer Prax­is. In ihrer Arbeit greift sie auf Mit­tel des Spiel- und Expe­ri­ence-Designs sowie For­mate der par­tizipa­tiv­en Kun­st zurück. Sie arbeit­et vorzugsweise in länger­fristi­gen Koop­er­a­tio­nen\, so dass ihre agile Zusam­me­nar­beit bei den Partner*innen stets auch einen nach­halti­gen Effekt auf die jew­eilige Organ­i­sa­tion­sin­terne Arbeit­skul­tur und ‑wirkung hat.Lutz Henke ist Kura­tor und Kul­tur­wis­senschaftler (M.A.) aus Berlin. Er ist Kul­turbeauf­tragter von vis­it­Ber­lin\, wo er seit 2016 inno­v­a­tive For­mate und Pro­gramme entwick­elt. Er studierte in Frank­furt (Oder)\, Buenos Aires und Berke­ley mit den Schw­er­punk­ten Urban­is­tik\, Kun­st\, Sub­kul­tur und Zeit­geschichte. Als Vor­sitzen­der des Kreuzberg­er Kun­stvere­ins »Arti­tude e.V.« leit­ete er den Ausstel­lungsraum und ehe­ma­li­gen Sen­at­sre­ser­ven­spe­ich­er (SRS) Berlin bis zu dessen Abriss im Jahr 2014. Seit 2001 kuratiert und leit­et er Kun­st­pro­jek­te\, die sich mit Kun­st und dem öffentlichen Raum beschäfti­gen. In enger Zusam­me­nar­beit mit den Kün­stlern hat er öffentliche Kunst­werke und Inter­ven­tio­nen in Berlin und weltweit real­isiert. Seine kura­torische Prax­is wie auch seine Forschung konzen­tri­ert sich auf Raumprax­is und ‑the­o­rie\, Gedächt­nis und Erin­nerung\, ästhetis­che Inter­ven­tio­nen und Gren­zen in ihren vielfälti­gen Erschei­n­ungs­for­men. Henke wurde ein­ge­laden\, Vorträge und Kurse über urbane Ästhetik\, Kun­st\, Kul­tur und Geschichte an ver­schiede­nen Insti­tu­tio­nen weltweit zu hal­ten. Jen­nifer con­sults\, accom­pa­nies and empow­ers peo­ple and organ­i­sa­tions from the arts\, cul­ture and city coun­cils in times of trans­for­ma­tion: togeth­er with them she works on civic par­tic­i­pa­tion\, place­mak­ing\, val­ue ori­ent­ed net­work­ing\, play­ful learn­ing and dig­i­tal com­pe­ten­cies. Jen­nifer focus­es on co-cre­ation and impact ori­en­ta­tion. Her meth­ods are root­ed in game and expe­ri­ence design\, user ori­en­ta­tion and strate­gic impact inves­ti­ga­tion. This is still very new but at the same time reward­ing for city mak­ing spheres—provably.Lutz Henke is a cura­tor and cul­tur­al sci­en­tist (M.A.) from Berlin. He is Direc­tor Cul­ture of vis­it­Ber­lin where he is devel­op­ing inno­v­a­tive for­mats and pro­grams since 2016. His stud­ies in Frank­furt (Oder)\, Buenos Aires and Berke­ley\, focused on urban stud­ies\, art\, sub­cul­ture and con­tem­po­rary his­to­ry. As the chair­man of the Kreuzberg art orga­ni­za­tion »Arti­tude e.V.« he direct­ed the exhi­bi­tion space and for­mer secret reserve »Sen­at­sre­ser­ven­spe­ich­er (SRS) Berlin« till its demo­li­tion in 2014. He has been curat­ing and man­ag­ing art projects which deal with art and the pub­lic domain since 2001. He has real­ized pub­lic art­works and inter­ven­tions in Berlin and world­wide in close col­lab­o­ra­tion with the artists. His cura­to­r­i­al prac­tice as well as his research focus­es on spa­tial prac­tice and the­o­ry\, mem­o­ry and remem­brance\, aes­thet­i­cal inter­ven­tions and fron­tiers in their diverse appear­ances. Henke has been invit­ed to give talks and class­es on urban aes­thet­ics\, art\, cul­ture and his­to­ry at var­i­ous insti­tu­tions world­wide. DESCRIPTION:Bar­bara Mey­er ist die Lei­t­erin des Kul­turzen­trums S27—Kunst und Bil­dung in Berlin Kreuzberg. Sie wuchs in der Schweiz auf und studierte Bildende Kun­st an der Akademie der Bilden­den Kün­ste München\, später Kun­st im Kon­text an der HDK in Berlin. Im Jahr 2006 organ­isierte sie im Auf­trag des RAT FÜR DIE KÜNSTE die Kam­pagne OFFENSIVE KULTURELLE BILDUNG. Bis 2009 leit­ete sie den Berlin­er Fonds für kul­turelle Bil­dung. Im Jahr 2020 grün­dete sie mit ein­er Gruppe von Kün­stlern und Architek­ten die Berlin­er Ini­tia­tive Urbane Prax­is. Bar­bara Mey­er ist Mit­glied im Berlin­er Flüchtlingsrat.Der Berlin­er Kün­stler Mis­cha Leinkauf (*1977 in Berlin\, Deutsch­land) beschäftigt sich mit Lim­i­tierun­gen von Räu­men durch Beschnei­dun­gen\, Gren­zen\, Regeln\, Architek­turen und Bar­ri­eren. Durch Inter­ven­tio­nen in quasi—natürliche Ord­nungssys­teme provoziert er Sit­u­a­tio­nen\, die tem­poräre Irri­ta­tion erzeu­gen und Möglichkeit­sräume der Umkodierung eröff­nen. Ins­beson­dere die Grenzbere­iche zwis­chen öffentlichen und zugangs­beschränk­ten bzw. nicht—öffentlichen Räu­men dienen Leinkauf als Erweiterung seines kün­st­lerischen Hand­lungsspiel­raumes. Seine medi­enüber­greifende kün­st­lerische Prax­is umfasst per­for­ma­tive Inter­ven­tio­nen\, Videoin­stal­la­tio­nen\, Filme und Fotografien. By inter­ven­ing in quasi—natural sys­tems of order\, he pro­vokes sit­u­a­tions that cre­ate tem­po­rary irri­ta­tion and open up spaces for recod­ing. In par­tic­u­lar\, the bor­der areas between pub­lic and restricted—access or non—public spaces serve Leinkauf as an exten­sion of his artis­tic scope of action. His cross-media artis­tic prac­tice includes per­for­ma­tive inter­ven­tions\, video instal­la­tions\, films and pho­tographs. DESCRIPTION:Licia Sol­davi­ni ist wis­senschaftliche Mitar­bei­t­erin an der TU Braun­schweig\, Insti­tut für Geschichte und The­o­rie der Architek­tur und der Stadt. Als Stadtku­ra­torin arbeit­et sie mit soziokul­turellen und urba­nen Prak­tiken in ganz Europa—seit 2012 haupt­säch­lich als Mit­glied von Con­struct­lab. In ihrer Forschung­prax­is ver­sucht sie\, diszi­plinäre Gren­zen her­auszu­fordern\, minoritären Per­spek­tiv­en einzubrin­gen und uner­wartete Begeg­nun­gen zu provozieren\, um das trans­for­ma­tive Poten­zial kri­tis­ch­er räum­lich­er Prak­tiken für das zukün­ftige urbane Leben zu erkun­den.Tom­ma Suki Hin­rich­sen hat Pro­dukt und Prozess­gestal­tung an der UdK studiert. Sie hat einen kol­lab­o­ra­tiv­en\, utopie—orientierten Ansatz und glaubt\, dass Design eine wichtige Rolle spielt\, wenn es darum geht\, Dinge zum Besseren zu verän­dern. She has a col­lab­o­ra­tive\, utopia—oriented approach and believes that design has an impor­tant role when it comes to change stuff for the bet­ter. The Tools that she uses for her design prac­tice are par­tic­i­pa­to­ry work­shops\, phys­i­cal objects and illus­tra­tions. Doch: Wie umge­hen mit dem kul­turellen Erbe? Wie kann dieses geschützt und gle­ichzeit­ig weit­er-entwick­elt wer­den? Und wie kann es sowohl sozial als auch ökol­o­gisch und ökonomisch in Wert geset­zt wer­den? Die Part­ner­schaft für Kul­tur und kul­turelles Erbe in der Urba­nen Agen­da für die EU hat einen über­greifend­en\, ganzheitlichen und prag­ma­tis­chen Ansatz entwick­elt und bietet allen Inter­essierten Mit­sprachemöglichkeit­en bei der Entwick­lung dieses wichti­gen Arbeits­felds. As a resource and poten­tial to cre­ate just\, green and pro­duc­tive cities\, cul­tur­al her­itage has a pro­found effect on the cities of Europe and makes essen­tial con­tri­bu­tions to the qual­i­ty of life. But: How to deal with cul­tur­al her­itage? How to pro­tect and devel­op it at the same time? And how to put it into val­ue social­ly\, eco­log­i­cal­ly and eco­nom­i­cal­ly? The Part­ner­ship for Cul­ture and Cul­tur­al Her­itage of the Urban Agen­da for the EU has devel­oped a com­pre­hen­sive\, holis­tic and prag­mat­ic approach\, and it offers inter­est­ed stake­hold­ers the oppor­tu­ni­ty to par­tic­i­pate in the devel­op­ment of this impor­tant Euro­pean task. The Part­ner­ship con­sists of a net­work of 30 select­ed part­ners from across Europe. DESCRIPTION:Der End­boss Dop­peldecker­bus wird zu ein­er mobilen Redak­tion\, die es sich zur Auf­gabe macht\, in drei Tagen Fra­gen auf Antworten zu find­en\, die nie­mand gestellt hat und Bewe­gung erst in die Redak­tion\, von dort aufs Papi­er und danach in die Köpfe zu brin­gen. In ein­er Kom­bi­na­tion aus Schreib­work­shop und City-Tour wer­den on-the-spot Inhalte entwick­elt und nötige Recherchereisen durch die Stadt unter­nom­men\, die danach gemein­sam redak­tionell bear­beit­et wer­den und direkt vor Ort und Stelle—im Bus—per Riso­graph zu einem Mag­a­zin wer­den. Wie in der Ausstel­lung selb­st\, die immer wieder Rück­kehrpunkt für die rol­lende Redak­tion ist\, drehen sich auch die Inhalte des Mag­a­zins um »Städte\, Men­schen und Geschicht­en“. Anstelle eines star­ren Redak­tion­skonzepts wer­den die Inhalte allerd­ings im Machen und im wörtlichen Sinne unter­wegs entwick­elt\, um neue Räume zu schaf­fen und (Denk)Lücken zu schließen. Dabei kom­men unter­schiedliche Recherche‑\, Schreib- und Doku­men­ta­tion­stech­niken zum Ein­satz. Das Archiv ist eine kri­tis­che Inter­ven­tion\, die dom­i­nante his­torische Nar­ra­tive in Frage stellt\, die dazu tendieren\, die Geschichte des Kolo­nial­is­mus\, der Sklaverei und ihr Ver­mächt­nis herun­terzus­pie­len. Wes­teu­ropäis­che Län­der wie die Nieder­lande\, Großbri­tan­nien\, Spanien und Frankre­ich waren große Kolo­nialmächte\, die in den transat­lantis­chen Sklaven­han­del involviert waren. Andere (west)europäische Län­der wie Deutsch­land und Bel­gien wur­den zu großen impe­ri­alen Mächt­en nach der Abschaf­fung des transat­lantis­chen Sklaven­han­dels. Obwohl diese Geschicht­en in der Entwick­lung der europäis­chen Staat­en und Städten\, wie zum Beispiel Lon­don\, Ams­ter­dam\, Berlin und Paris\, eine große Rolle spiel­ten\, wer­den diese Teile der Geschichte oft unter­be­lichtet im öffentlichen Gedächt­nis\, in der Kun­st und in Bil­dung­sein­rich­tun­gen. Viele dieser Metropolen sind »Mehrheit­en-Min­der­heit­en« Städte; Städte\, in denen es keine dom­i­nante eth­nis­che Gruppe mehr gibt\, son­dern ein Mosaik von Men­schen mit ver­schiede­nen kul­turellen HIn­ter­grün­den und unter­schiedlichen Migra­tions­geschicht­en. Den­noch sind ihre Geschicht­en oft­mals nicht Teil der dom­i­nan­ten his­torischen Nar­ra­tive und wer­den als von den Städten\, in denen sie leben\, abgekop­pelt und nicht mit ihnen ver­bun­den ange­se­hen. Indem wir »alter­na­tive Archive« entwick­eln und uns in sie hinein­begeben\, kön­nen wir über­raschende Geschichte(n) über die Präsenz\, die Beiträge und die Emanzi­pa­tions­be­we­gun­gen von unter­schiedlichen Grup­pen von Men­schen offen­le­gen. The archive is a crit­i­cal inter­ven­tion\, chal­leng­ing dom­i­nant his­tor­i­cal nar­ra­tives\, which tend to down­play his­to­ries of colo­nial­ism\, slav­ery\, and their lega­cy. West­ern Euro­pean coun­tries such as the Nether­lands\, the UK\, Spain\, and France were major colo­nial empires involved in the transat­lantic slave trade. Oth­er (Western-)European coun­tries such as Ger­many and Bel­gium became major impe­r­i­al pow­ers after the abol­ish­ment of the transat­lantic slave trade. Although these his­to­ries played a major role in the devel­op­ment of Euro­pean nation-states and metrop­o­les such as Lon­don\, Ams­ter­dam\, Berlin\, and Paris\, these parts of his­to­ry are often under­ex­posed in pub­lic mem­o­ry\, arts\, and edu­ca­tion­al insti­tu­tions. Many of these metrop­o­les have become »major­i­ty-minor­i­ty« cities\, cities in which there is no longer one dom­i­nant eth­nic group but a mosa­ic of peo­ple with dif­fer­ent cul­tur­al back­grounds and dif­fer­ent migra­tion his­to­ries. How­ev­er\, their his­to­ries are often not part of dom­i­nant his­tor­i­cal nar­ra­tives\, and they are seen as dis­con­nect­ed and unre­lat­ed from the cities in which they live. By devel­op­ing and delv­ing into »alter­na­tive archives\,« how­ev­er\, we can find sur­pris­ing (hi)stories of the pres­ence\, con­tri­bu­tions\, and eman­ci­pa­tion strug­gles of dif­fer­ent groups of peo­ple.
